❓Why❓Why do people take multiple Oyster Bamboo Fly rod making classes❓

✨It is impossible to explain in a social media post the mystique surrounding our bamboo fly rod making classes that draws our students back time and time again. So, I rarely even try. ✨ This is a community that formed organically over 26 years ago. A community that starts for others with a simple phone call or a click to sign up, that leads to friendships bonding over something larger than bamboo fly rods and fly fishing… and therein lies the mystery that no amount of marketing can encapsulate.
💫Last week’s class was a true testament to the power of community. 8 of the 10 students who joined us were “repeat offenders”.

❤️HART is relentless supporter of Oyster and has 13 classes to his name.He not only owns our rods but also spreads the joy by bringing people to our classes with him from all over the country and world for that matter. Hart’s infectious enthusiasm elevates every class week.

📱GRANT and Bill text like 12-year-old girls, and if you know Bill, this is his preferred (and only) form of communication.

🐾 JJ is a dog trainer from Arizona who keeps in touch through his hilarious IG reels.
🎂MIKE celebrated his birthday last week and has (almost) talked me into another Oyster Belize trip.
❄️💧BOB (from Alaska) and JERRY (from Washington) are good friends meeting up from afar to make their second rod together.
✈️ BILL and GREGG, friends from college in the aviation industry, joined our community once again for the third time, adding a touch of camaraderie and shared history to our bamboo inner sanctum.

🌱DAVE is a first-timer from Minnesota brought to Oyster by Bill and Gregg, and as a group, Shannen (that’s me) was able to talk to them about my favorite subject (shotguns and sporting clays).
🌱DREW wisely chose to take his first class between life’s milestones/adventures. Godspeed, Drew.

⛰️Make no mistake… we are grateful for every moment spent together in our corner of Southern Appalachia.

🍻 Here’s to the boundless camaraderie that makes Oyster Bamboo Fly Rods a home away from home for all who wander into our little rod-making shop. 🌿💫
