Oyster's January 20-25, 2025 Bamboo Fly Rod Making Class

Oyster's January 20-25, 2025 Bamboo Fly Rod Making Class

Welcome to our Bamboo Fly Rod Making Class, January 20-25, 2025!*

This week, we’re thrilled to celebrate John, who is crafting his 30th rod! To commemorate this milestone, he’s making a **7’6” 5 wt**, perfect for optimal fly fishing in the Appalachians.

**Adam B.** is back for his second class, an Oyster regular…from Florida, creating an **8’ 6 wt** to catch Canadian Walleye.

**Drew** from Connecticut, a graphite rod builder, is trying his hand at bamboo with an **8’ 9 wt** for False Albacore.

A warm Appalachia welcome to **Barrington** from Australia! He’s crafting one of our favorite tapers, an **8’ 4 wt**.

**Brian and Kelly** stumbled upon our shop while mug shopping on Main Street. They’re escaping the cold from 30A this week (it’s snowing at the beach), both making our beloved **8’ 7 wt** for saltwater fishing.

**Rob**, a Tenkara guide from Kentucky, is building an **8’ 4 wt**. Fun fact: he shares a cycling past with Bill, a cool commonplace with many clientele.

**Bill**, hailing from Iowa’s driftless region, appreciates the art of fly fishing and is crafting a classic **8’ 5 wt**.

**Dan** is visiting from PCB, making an **8’ 5 wt** for his frequent trips to North Georgia. His wife, Laurie, has a long history with Oyster and is Shannen’s favorite writer!

**Chris** is here thanks to a thoughtful gift from his mother, fulfilling a long-held dream. He’s building a **7’ 6” 6 wt**. Welcome, Chris! We’re honored to share this week with you.

Welcome!!! While a cold snap has gripped much of the country, there’s no better time to stay warm indoors and build a bamboo fly rod!
