About last week…
Oyster’s September 22–27, 2025 bamboo fly rod making class welcomed 2 repeat students and eight new rod makers from all across the country.
Rick was here from Michigan for class #8, making an 8' 9wt for King Salmon and Steelhead. He says this is “the best week of his year.” See you soon!
Todd, a local, built an 8' 6wt for the North Georgia area. His nephew, Anthony, joined him to commemorate this very special week.
Anthony from Colorado also built an 8' 6wt to fish for trout and the almighty Bluegill.
Rod from Texas received the class as a gift from his wife. He crafted an 8' 7wt to fish the Rocky Mountains.
Scott H. from Boca Raton, FL crafted Oyster’s classic 8' 9wt to fish for Redfish, Snook, and Tarpon.
Mike from North Carolina was here with his friend Scott T. He made a 7' 9" 4wt for our beloved Brook Trout.
Scott T. was here for class #4 from Orlando and brought his friend Mike. Scott comes for the camaraderie and will be using his new 7' 6" 4wt in the Pisgah National Forest.
Bob from Alpharetta, GA has never fly fished but is taking up a new hobby in his retirement. He made an 8' 6wt to fish the Chattahoochee and Montana next year—and anywhere in between. Perfect, Bob. Welcome.
Casey from Mississippi made a 7' 9" 6wt. He plans to use his rod wherever it takes him.
Tony from Birmingham, AL made a 7' 9" 6wt to fish anywhere from Alabama to North Carolina.
