About Oyster’s Happiest Class Ever
Our last class of 2025 arguably holds this rare distinction:
🥰 Bill came down into our offices multiple times during the class week and said, “This might be the happiest class we’ve ever had.” That’s quite the proclamation because 1. We’ve had A LOT of classes in the past 27 years and 2. Most of our classes are very, very happy! #happiest
✨ Here’s to ending on a high note!
❄️Oyster’s December 8-13, 2025 bamboo fly rod making class welcomed 5 repeat students and 5 new rod makers and the Holiday Spirit!!❄️🍻Meet the makers…
2️⃣Lisa and Chuck were here from Ohio🌳 for class #2. They attended their first class 2 years ago and signed up before leaving. Lisa built an 8’ 10wt for redfishing in Charleston, SC, and Chuck crafted a 7’9” 4wt for trout.
2️⃣Dusty joined us from right here in beautiful Blue Ridge, GA #local⛰️for class #2. He made an 8’ 9wt to fish Bonefish in the Bahamas.
2️⃣Steve was here from Flat Rock, Michigan for class #2. This time, he crafted an 8’ 7wt to fish the Pere Marquette River.
2️⃣Joe, Steve’s son 🧑🧒, also here from Southeast Michigan, for class #2, plans to fish for smallmouth bass with his new 7’9” 6wt.
🕑Bill from Birmingham, AL has waited 20 years to attend a class #welcome. He built an 8’ 8wt to streamer-fish big browns in Arkansas with his son. #worththewait
🌊Aaron (A-a-ron) attended class with Bill, Steve, and Joe. He came from south Alabama and crafted an 8’ 9wt to fish “in the water”😆for redfish in Mobile Bay.
🦀Nick from Annapolis, Maryland, gifted🎁 the class to himself for retirement. He made a 7’9” 5wt for brook trout in the Adirondacks.
⛰️Sandy joined us from Eatonton, GA. She enjoys fly fishing and brought her friend Judy. Sandy built a 7’9” 6wt to fish local North Georgia waters.
🎸Judy from Memphis, TN has not fly fished before—Sandy said she “made her come.” Judy also built a 7’9” 6wt. 🤫 We are pretty certain that Judy had the best time of them all!
